Ways that can help you become successful in the music business

The music business is a very difficult business to break into, but with the right amount of talent, drive, and confidence, one can become successful in doing what they love....making music. There is so much talent in this world and it's sad that we won't get a chance to hear half of it. A lot of it has to do with being at the right place at the right time, having good connections with the right people, but if you REALLY want it..... you will go out there and get it. Some ways that will help you become successful in the music business are by practicing often, networking, and playing and recording every chance you get.
You need to PRACTICE your talent daily. "If you don't use it, you will loose it." You have to find new ways to challenge yourself because you want to differentiate yourself from all of the other talent out in the world. NETWORKING is really important. You need to make time to be around other people who enjoy doing the same things as you and make friends with everyone. You never know if you are making friends with someone who can help you go far in the business. PLAY AND RECORD OFTEN. Any chance you get you need to be out there showing off to the world. You need to be confident in what you do because that is what people love to see. You could be the most amazing singer in the world, but if you stand on stage and sing with no emotions or personality, you might as well give up your dream because no one is going to want you. If you have access to a recording studio, you need to record your voice weekly. This will let you hear how you are progressing and what you need to work on.
To be successful in the music business does not necessarily mean becoming famous. You have songwriters, musicians who play locally, and people who sing at events for free. As long as you are doing what you love to do, and doing it well, then you are already successful. You just need to share your talents with everyone. Not only will this make you happy, but you will put smiles on the faces of so many others.

  1. I am very envious of the people who are gifted with voices. I have never had that gift and I think music is beautiful! My talent has always been dancing, which is what I love. But I still wish I had a natural voice.

  3. I agree. There is much more to being a great singer than just having the vocal ability. You must be able to connect with your audience and be able to tell a story through your music. It is not as easy as it seems.

  5. To sing, and enjoy it, is good; to sing, and bring enjoyment to others, is blessed.
