Great Performance by Summer Ray Smith!
I didn't even feel like going out last night but my girlfriends kept begging me to go to town with them, so I finally gave in. They told me that a local singer named Summer was going to be playing at the Stables and they really wanted to see her sing. So we all got dressed up and showed up at the Stables around 8:30 pm. We got a table, ordered a few drinks, and got comfortable. When Summer walked out, she was wearing a lime green cocktail dress with the prettiest wedge hills I had ever seen. She had long dark hair and she had the biggest smile on her face. She introduced herself and asked how everyone was doing and told the audience that she was ready to do a little singing for them. The first song she sang was fast and really got everyone in the mood to dance and enjoy themselves. I actually think the first song she sang was, "Here for the Party", which was a great song to start her show with. It got everyone hyped up and her voice was awesome. You could tell she really loved doing what she did because she was smiling constantly and including the audience in her performance. She sang, "Any Man of Man" and really got the crowd going when she picked an old man out and went and sat in his lap and sang to him. It was so funny! Her slow songs were beautiful too. Her voice was so smooth and deep and had so much emotion in it. She sang a song called, "Breakdown Here", and the song was slow and a lot of couples started slow dancing to it. You could tell that everyone in the bar was having a great time and they loved watching and listening to Summer. I'm sure the men liked the looks of her, but even the women were just as interested in her as the men were. She was so pretty and her voice was beautiful. She surprised everyone with her last song because she had been singing a lot of country music for most of the night. She ended the show singing, "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse which is a song about someone trying to get this girl to go to Rehab for her drinking problem and she just doesn't want to go. It's a fun song and Summer was just a fun girl. After the show, she handed out some business cards and told everyone she would love to sing for any special events that someone having. She got off the stage and was just walking around talking to everyone like she had known them forever. I was so happy that I decided to go out that night because I saw probably one of the best local shows I had ever seen and I just fell in love with Summer. If anyone wants a too see a great show I would definitely suggest you go and see Summer the first chance you get. You can't help but love her because she is so full of personality and just a great singer. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!

Pros and Cons of Illegally Downloading Music
People from all across America have been illegally downloading music for several years. Although illegally downloading music is frowned upon by many people in society, it has both advantages and disadvantages. Many people automatically choose to rule this type of downloading music as an unfair program, which I can understand considering the fact that they are cheating money away from the musical artist, but artists should realize that more people downloading their songs will more than likely increase the popularity of the certain musical artist. For many artists who are trying to make it into mainstream America, this form of publicity is extremely helpful. This could also lead to a lot of unknown talent becoming discovered. However, this is a huge disadvantage for the already popular artist who aren't receiving their full payment of money from their music due to all the illegal downloading. Another disadvantage that illegally downloading music includes is the vast variety of files that appear whenever a person searches for a specific song or artist. Also, anyone who is downloading music illegally must always be aware that they can easily be attacked by any of the viruses that the folders could hold. The most vital and obvious disadvantage of illegally downloading music is simply to avoid being sent a lawsuit. Therefore, there are many more disadvantages than advantages. When one decides to download illegally, he/she needs to look at the consequences that could come from their actions.
Ways that can help you become successful in the music business
The music business is a very difficult business to break into, but with the right amount of talent, drive, and confidence, one can become successful in doing what they love....making music. There is so much talent in this world and it's sad that we won't get a chance to hear half of it. A lot of it has to do with being at the right place at the right time, having good connections with the right people, but if you REALLY want it..... you will go out there and get it. Some ways that will help you become successful in the music business are by practicing often, networking, and playing and recording every chance you get.
You need to PRACTICE your talent daily. "If you don't use it, you will loose it." You have to find new ways to challenge yourself because you want to differentiate yourself from all of the other talent out in the world. NETWORKING is really important. You need to make time to be around other people who enjoy doing the same things as you and make friends with everyone. You never know if you are making friends with someone who can help you go far in the business. PLAY AND RECORD OFTEN. Any chance you get you need to be out there showing off to the world. You need to be confident in what you do because that is what people love to see. You could be the most amazing singer in the world, but if you stand on stage and sing with no emotions or personality, you might as well give up your dream because no one is going to want you. If you have access to a recording studio, you need to record your voice weekly. This will let you hear how you are progressing and what you need to work on.
To be successful in the music business does not necessarily mean becoming famous. You have songwriters, musicians who play locally, and people who sing at events for free. As long as you are doing what you love to do, and doing it well, then you are already successful. You just need to share your talents with everyone. Not only will this make you happy, but you will put smiles on the faces of so many others.
